About You and the Role

The Software Engineer will help to aid in next generation of encryption testing tools for the U.S. Navy. This is a 100% on-site position and will be at the customer's location at NIWC Pacific.

We are looking for a San Diego-based Software Engineer to join our team at NKI. This is a 100% onsite, full-time position following a 9/80 schedule.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Design and architecture of the Navy's next gen test tool for the NSA High Assurance IP Encryptor (HAIPE) family of secure IP networking devices
  • Participate in coding reviews, architecture reviews
  • Create documentation as required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field of study.
  • 3+ years of programming experience in Python.
  • Expertise in Linux Systems and Virtual Machines
  • Expertise in Network Software Engineering
    • IETF RFCs and associated networking specifications
    • Layer 2/3/4 protocol-level analysis and development
    • In-depth understanding of IPv4 & IPv6
    • Low-level Linux TCP/UDP/TLS/raw socket programming & analysis
    • IPsec, cryptographic primitives & mechanisms
    • Routing protocols
    • RESTCONF & YANG models
    • U.S. citizenship required; must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
