Description

SAIC is a trusted leader in delivering advanced command and control capabilities across the Department of the Air Force, bringing deep expertise in how cutting edge technologies are engineered, secured, and delivered to the fight. At the center of this mission, the Common Mission Control Center (CMCC) unifies data, sensors, mission applications, cloud based services, and emerging AI enabled automation to give warfighters a decisive edge—turning complex, multidomain information into fast, clear, and actionable decisions in the moments that matter most. The CMCC System Facilitator contract positions SAIC to accelerate how new capabilities are integrated, tested, secured, and transitioned into operational use, working side by side with operators, engineers, Capability Providers, and government teams to ensure every delivery strengthens mission readiness. This effort offers the chance to directly shape how the Air Force sees, decides, and acts across all domains—making a tangible and immediate impact on warfighter effectiveness.

SAIC is seeking an experienced DevSecOps Chief to lead CMCC’s DevSecOps, deployment automation, cloud engineering, and site reliability functions. This senior leader directs the secure CI/CD pipeline, manages environment provisioning and configuration, and partners closely with engineering, cybersecurity, and operational stakeholders to ensure high assurance, automated, and repeatable delivery of CMCC capabilities.

Job Duties include:

  • Lead all DSOP engineering activities including CI/CD automation, secure pipeline operations, cloud infrastructure, and site reliability engineering.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain secure cloud based services and operational infrastructure to support continuous delivery of CMCC capabilities.
  • Oversee Source Control Management, fully automated build/integration pipelines, deployment scripts, and configuration-as-code enforcement across multiple environments.
  • Direct integration, operations, and maintenance of CI/CD toolchains (GitLab, Jenkins, Argo CD, etc.), ensuring automated testing and secure software delivery.
  • Establish and enforce standards, policies, and governance for DevSecOps practices, secure deployment workflows, and configuration management.
  • Manage code promotion across Development, Test, Staging, and Operational environments, ensuring version control, auditability, and rollback readiness.
  • Work closely with developers, Capability Providers, cyber teams, and infrastructure engineers to automate processes and improve reliability, security, and performance.
  • Identify opportunities for increased automation and efficiency across deployment, testing, and monitoring functions.
  • Provide senior level technical leadership during PI Planning, backlog refinement, architecture reviews, and CCB processes.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • 15–18+ years of experience in DevSecOps, systems engineering, cloud engineering, or deployment automation.
  • 5–7+ years managing engineering teams or leading complex DevSecOps/CI/CD operations.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Bitbucket, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Platform One, AWS GovCloud) and containerization (Docker, Podman) and orchestration (Kubernetes, Helm).
  • Knowledge of cross-domain solutions, MLS/MILS architectures, and C-ATO requirements.
  • Proficiency in secure automation, STIG/ACAS alignment, security scanning, and continuous monitoring.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum or Kanban workflows and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong technical communication and ability to interact with senior DoD stakeholders.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Prior experience with CBC2, AOC Falconer, DI, JFN, or other DAF C3BM modernization efforts.
  • Experience leading enterprise DevSecOps modernization or cloud-native transformation efforts.
  • Familiarity with UCI schema, EICD management, or external interface integrations.
  • Experience supporting cATO automation or RMF continuous monitoring.

Desired Skills and Certifications:

  • CISSP, Security+, CCSP, or equivalent cybersecurity certification.
  • AWS DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect, or Kubernetes CKA/CKAD certification.
  • ITIL or similar service-management training.
  • Proficiency with automation/scripting (Python, Bash, YAML).
