As a Data Expert within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Denver, CO.
As a Data Expert, you will play a critical role in defining data strategy, building foundational data quality capabilities, and driving meaningful improvements across the Technology organization.
This role will focus on standing up a data quality platform and developing enterprise-level data quality rules. This role offers the flexibility to evolve and take on other high-impact initiatives such as tool integrations, pipeline modernization, and decommissioning non-authoritative or duplicative data sources to reduce complexity and storage costs.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, build, and enhance a data quality platform to support Technology-wide data needs
Develop, implement, and maintain data quality rules across multiple data sources
Write and optimize complex SQL queries to support data validation and analysis
Partner with technology teams and subject matter experts to define authoritative data sources
Contribute to and influence Technology's broader data strategy
Support data pipeline development and tool integrations
Identify and help decommission non-authoritative or duplicative data sources
Improve data efficiency, scalability, and usability across the organization
Create clear, insightful data visualizations to communicate findings and trends
Collaborate within a Sub-Domain ownership model, partnering with SMEs across Technology
Key Skills & Experience:
Strong proficiency in SQL with experience developing complex queries and data rules
Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis or automation
Experience working in AWS-based data environments
Ability to build and interpret data visualizations for technical and non-technical audiences

  • Manages and develops information systems for clients; conducts data information analysis for a variety of studies under the direction of organizational standards. Develops strategies for data implementation, data acquisition, and archive recovery.
  • Helps advise business, applications and operations counterparts to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Structures the environment and creates logical storage units especially for size and physical locations, to map database elements into logical units.
  • Implements and supports technologies for managing and effectively utilizing multiple information sources, formats and uses. Resolves data integration and security issues for adherence to the organization's quality standards.
  • Researches customers needs, conducts awareness and promotional sessions for potential customers.
