Job description

CHROME HEARTS®, the Fine Jewelry, Accessories, Shoes, Fragrance & Home Goods company renowned for its sophisticated life-inspired designs, was conceived in 1988 by Richard Stark in Los Angeles. Honoring a commitment to quality materials and timeless design, CHROME HEARTS® now has thirty+ stores across North America, Europe, and Asia, and can be found in the most exclusive boutiques around the world.
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
We're building a new Retail Engineering team in-house and looking for a versatile senior developer to be its technical backbone. This role reports directly to the CIO and partners closely with a dedicated Business Analyst to support, extend, and evolve the technology platforms that power our luxury retail operations across 30+ stores worldwide.
Your primary focus will be our retail commerce platform-Dynamics 365 Commerce and Finance & Operations-but this is not a single-stack role. You'll context-switch between C# backend work, TypeScript POS extensions, integration APIs, and custom applications, often in the same week. We're looking for someone who thrives on that variety and picks up new technologies quickly rather than waiting to be trained.
Over time, this team will grow beyond retail into broader platform and application development: microservices, mobile apps, internal tools, and solutions for business problems that don't fit neatly inside an ERP. We want someone who's excited by that trajectory-a builder who takes ownership of what they ship, cares about the business impact of their code, and is eager to expand into new domains as the team evolves.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Retail Platform Development
  • Develop and maintain extensions and customizations for Dynamics 365 Commerce and Finance & Operations (C# backend, TypeScript/HTML POS client)
  • Build and support integrations connecting retail systems with e-commerce, order management, and other business platforms via REST APIs, OData, and enterprise messaging patterns
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in the retail technology stack; own system stability and performance for the platforms you build

Custom Application & Integration Development
  • Design and build microservices, APIs, and full-stack applications that support business operations beyond the ERP-internal tools, workflow automation, line-of-business mobile apps, and operational dashboards
  • Architect solutions pragmatically: balance technical quality with business timelines, and choose the right tool for the problem rather than defaulting to a single stack
  • Own solutions end-to-end from design through deployment and ongoing support

Data & Analytics Engineering
  • Develop and optimize data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric using PySpark, Delta Lake, and Python notebooks
  • Support the data architecture (bronze/silver/gold layers) and build tooling that enables business users to access and analyze data

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
  • Partner with the Business Analyst to translate functional requirements into technical designs and deliver tested, production-ready solutions
  • Write clear technical documentation; build systems that others can understand, maintain, and extend
  • Work directly with business stakeholders when needed to understand context and validate solutions

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience with demonstrated ability to own and deliver complex projects independently
  • Strong proficiency in C# / .NET and at least one of TypeScript/JavaScript or Python; genuine comfort working across multiple languages rather than deep specialization in only one
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs, working with relational and/or document databases, and deploying to cloud environments (Azure preferred)
  • Track record of supporting production systems you've built-not just building and handing off; you've lived with the consequences of your design decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new platforms, frameworks, and business domains quickly and deliver production-quality work without extensive ramp-up
  • Clear communication skills; able to discuss technical tradeoffs with non-technical stakeholders and document your work for others

PREFERRED BACKGROUND
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce, Finance & Operations, or legacy AX development (X++, Retail SDK, Commerce Scale Unit)
  • Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, or Spark-based data pipeline development
  • Mobile development experience (Flutter preferred, or React Native / native iOS/Android)
  • Modern frontend framework experience (React, Angular, or similar)
  • Containerization and CI/CD pipeline experience (Docker, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
  • Experience working customer-side rather than exclusively in consulting; you've owned systems in production long-term

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • C# (.NET Core/Framework), TypeScript/JavaScript, Python
  • REST API design, OData, integration architecture patterns
  • Azure cloud services (App Services, Functions, Cosmos DB, Storage, SQL)
  • Relational and document database design and query optimization
  • Source control, code review practices, and CI/CD fundamentals
  • Data engineering concepts: ETL/ELT, Delta Lake, PySpark, pipeline orchestration

BENEFITS
  • 401(k) matching
  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Vision insurance
