Job description

We're seeking someone to join our Credit Valuation Adjustment (CVA) Technology team as an Full Stack - Java Application Developer to drive the design and delivery of next-generation risk management, enabling critical risk analytics across the Firm.

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Software Engineering III position at Director level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Participate in the strategic renovation of mission-critical distributed infrastructure supporting trade capture and market/reference data gathering for the CVA trading desk.

  • Partner with users, traders, quants, and technology teams to understand business and technology requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.

  • Analyze and enhance existing data flows, architecture, and system functionality to improve platform performance and reliability.

  • Architect, build, and maintain scalable, testable distributed systems using Core Java and/or Scala.

  • Develop robust multithreaded applications and services supporting high-volume trading and market data workloads.

  • Support platform evolution through problem analysis, solution design, testing, and implementation.

  • Contribute to the delivery of technology solutions through a thorough understanding of platform responsibilities and business objectives.

  • Handle the full life cycle of the project from requirements analysis to final implementation and rollout into production.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • 5+ years' experience in Core Java/Scala with good understanding of multithreading.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.

  • Experience in architecting, building, and maintaining scalable distributed systems.

  • Ability to demonstrate strong software engineering, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across Traders, Quants, and Technology teams.

  • Experience with RDBMS and SQL is a nice-to-have.

  • Experience with Python, Perl, Unix, and K-Shell scripting is preferred.

  • Understanding of financial products, particularly OTC derivatives is beneficial.

All our positions are located in Montreal, Quebec. We offer a hybrid work environment, combining remote work and attendance in the office.

Knowledge of French and English is required.
