Blocking Saw Operator

Like problem-solving and puzzles? Have good special awareness? Every day, our Blockers solve the 3-dimensional puzzle of how to efficiently cut our foam into usable parts while minimizing unnecessary scrap. If you enjoy a good puzzle or game of Tetris, youโ€™ll fit here.

About Foamcraft

At Foamcraft, weโ€™ve been building high-quality foam solutions for nearly 75 yearsโ€”combining craftsmanship, innovation, and a strong team culture. Our Mitchell location plays a key role in delivering custom products that meet our customersโ€™ needs.

About the Role

Our Automated Saw Operators are responsible for inputting commands and monitoring the process needed for computer-controlled saws to manufacture the foam. We utilize multiple saw types, including CNCย  saws. This is considered โ€œlightโ€ manufacturing and we will provide training.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Cutting down large foam buns into smaller blocks to be used in all other processes in our plant.
  • Drawing patterns and marking foam as directed.
  • Organizing cut materials in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Lifting and moving materials with proper techniques.
  • Observing all safety rules and regulations.

What You Bring

  • A positive attitude towards their coworkers and job.
  • Ability to interpret dimensions and perform quick, basic math tasks while focusing on safety
  • Ability to understand and follow all company policies and regulations
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Prior saw experience preferred but not required
