Job description

The Putnam County Department of Public Works is seeking a full-time Farm Laborer to work on Tilly Foster Farm. Duties include but are not limited to farm animal care (cleaning pens, feeding, and turn in/out), field production (planting, weeding, and harvesting crops), and general farm maintenance (fence repair, painting, lawn care). Must be able to work independently and communicate well with others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: There is no minimum experience, education or training, but some experience in heavy manual labor is desirable.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid, unrestricted, appropriate level driver’s license, and acceptable driving record are required at time of appointment and must be maintained throughout employment.

SCHEDULE: Full-time, Monday – Friday. Shifts vary depending on the season, may include a split shift and/or weekends.

STARTING SALARY: $48,354 per year
