Job description

POSITION:                       Health Science Occupations                                         

LOCATION:                       Canton High School

OVERVIEW:

The Health Science Instructor will provide instruction of the standards associated with the Michigan Department of Education Office of Career and Technical Education's CIP 51.0000.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must possess a valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with the Health Sciences/Allied Health/Health Sciences, General, CIP 51.000 

OR

Be eligible for an Annual Occupational Authorization (AOA):  Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 4,000 hours of paid recent (within the past six years) and relevant work experience in health care and current appropriate industry licensure.

     2.  Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or any other certified/registered health care provider, preferred.

     3.  American Red Cross Certification, preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Teaches the state approved standards for CIP Code 51.0000.
  2. Updates the CIP Self-review each year.
  3. Updates/revises curriculum each year.
  4. Other duties as assigned by CTE Administrator.

EVALUATION:                 Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Certificated Personnel.

BEGINNING DATE:          August 25, 2026

                                        New hires will be required to attend a three-day orientation

                                        August 19-21, 2026

SALARY:                          PCEA Salary Schedule
