We're Hiring an RTS Production Planner at Rockford, IL!

Position Summary

The Production Planner is responsible for supporting the production planning and scheduling processes within the Regeneration manufacturing environment. Xylems ten Regeneration sites across the United States provide quality resin to over 75 internal service branches to ensure customers achieve ultra-pure water for their applications. This role involves assisting in the creation of production schedules, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring that materials and resources are available to meet production demands. The Planner works closely with service, plant managers, and supervisors to ensure that production plans are executed efficiently.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Effectively evaluate current material / labor capacity and customer requirements to develop a production plan and schedule for regen facilities in area of responsibility.
  • Prepare and maintain basic reports.
  • Participate in inventory studies and cost analysis.
  • Create daily production plans and schedules.
  • Support the planning and coordination of new business introductions and assess the impact and support changes to overall production schedules.
  • Coordinate with the Manufacturing Engineering team to develop and maintain labor routers for production process.
  • Manage production orders in conjunction with Production and materials team from creation through close.

Additional Responsibilities to include:

  • Safety and Compliance
    • Ensure production processes are in compliance with safety regulations
    • Identify potential safety hazards and take necessary precautions
    • Work with safety team to implement safety protocols and procedures
  • Planning and Scheduling
    • Creating and maintain production schedules
    • Maintaining accurate records and preparing reports
    • Coordinating with production team to ensure timely completion of tasks
    • Monitoring production progress and make adjustments as needed
    • Analyzing production data to identify opportunities for improvement
    • Monitor inventory levels and make recommendations for restocking
    • Identify and resolve material shortages with Operations team
  • Communication Needs
    • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure alignment on production plans
    • Communicate production schedules and updates to all relevant parties
    • Address any production related issues and provide regular updates to management
    • Facilitate communication between production team and other departments
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Generate reports on production performance, including productivity, efficiency, and quality
    • Analyze data and make recommendations for process improvements
    • Communicate production metrics to management and provide insights for decision making
  • Training and Development
    • Train new production team members on processes and procedures
    • Provide ongoing training to production team to improve skills and knowledge
    • Identify training needs and work with management to develop training programs
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Continuously evaluate and improve production processes
    • Implement lean manufacturing principles to increase efficiency
    • Stay updated on industry best practices and implement them in production planning.

Position Requirements

  • BS/BA in a related discipline, or advanced degree, or equivalent combination of education and or experience.
  • 2-5 years of successful Demand Planning / Production Planning experience.
  • SAP ERP Experience required
  • Participation in implementation process for SAP- ERP preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification(s) a plus.
  • Ability to demonstrate a good grasp of knowledge and principles of planning required.
  • Ability to take initiative, think pro-actively and self-schedule required.
