Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

  • Provide support to Program Coordination staff, assisting with grant planning and administration, fiscal, budgetary, and/or other associated transactions, program implementation and administration, internal and external operational/administrative liaison, program marketing, and reporting.
  • Assists in or collaborate with others to develop, implement and maintain lab and research systems and data collection systems or facilities.
  • Assists in program assessment and evaluation and helps to devise quality assurance check systems for program or project.
  • Reviews/edits materials created for others for proper formatting and spell check, making necessary changes and printing final hard copies for supervisor review and signature

Job Summary:

The Residential College Coordinator requires skills in organization, time management, collaboration, community engagement, and interpersonal engagement. The position advises students on academic issues and helps them access university resources. They monitor key spaces in the building and advise on facility upkeep. They coordinate, schedule, and implement Luckyday Residential College activities. They reconcile Luckyday Residential College finances and handle Requests for Payment to outside vendors. They collaborate with Residential College South. They assist with the recruitment and selection of Luckyday Residential College Associate residents. They build relationships with other units on campus to enrich programming. Additionally, the position responds to individual concerns of parents, students, and interested parties regarding Luckyday Residential College.
(Note: This position does not live on campus and uses a flex schedule to work some nights and weekends.)

Job Description:

  • Daily Tasks include checking on spaces and ensuring they are clean, in order, and stocked with necessary supplies; monitoring and responding to emails and voicemail; following up with event partners; interacting with students; and ensuring event planning is on schedule.
  • Weekly Tasks include meeting with the Senior Faculty Fellow to discuss updates, Luckyday Residential College needs, and events; managing a 40-hours a week flex schedule, especially when events occur after hours or on weekends; ensuring materials for events are secured; creating flyers for events and posting them in high traffic areas; meeting with students one-on-one or in groups to discuss academics or concerns; reconciling the Purchasing Card purchases; creating and maintaining attendance records for events; maintaining the Luckyday Residential College Storage Closet; managing Room Requests in the building; picking up catering (if applicable); and setting up, implementing, and cleaning up after events.
  • Monthly, Semester, and Yearly Tasks include running midterm and final grade reports to identify students that are academically at-risk; meeting with various residential college and living and learning oriented committees to discuss trends, needs, and initiatives; compiling a report for the Senior Faculty Fellow that identifies the students and faculty engaged through programming, the average GPA of all residents, and the unique successes and challenges for the academic semester and year; and completing additional assignments identified by the Senior Faculty Fellow.
  • This is a temporary position.
