Job description

Who We Are
Since 2010, Surmesur has been building something different - a made-to-measure clothing
brand where the client experience is the product. Across 10 boutiques in Canada and the US,
we craft custom garments for men and women, one relationship at a time. In 2025, we earned
our B Corp certification - a public commitment to doing business with integrity. That same year,
the Retail Council of Canada recognized Surmesur with an Excellence in Retailing Award for our
flagship concept - a modern tailoring atelier built around circular design stations, private fitting
environments, and hospitality-driven spaces that make every client visit immersive and
personal.
We're growing into new markets, and we're looking for a Boutique Manager who is genuinely
passionate about people - the clients they serve and the team they lead.

What This Role Is Really About
At the center of everything is the client. Every person who walks into a Surmesur showroom
should feel like the experience was built specifically for them - from the first conversation to the
moment they pick up their garment. As Boutique Manager, you are the person who makes that
happen, consistently, every single day.
You'll also be the face of Surmesur in your city. You'll build relationships in the local community,
create events that bring new clients through the door, and identify opportunities to grow the
brand's presence in your market.
This is a role with real autonomy. You'll set the direction for your boutique, develop your team,
and drive your own results - with the full support of a head office that is invested in your
success.

What You'll Be Responsible For
Client Experience
Own the end-to-end client journey - from first contact through to post-purchase
follow-up
Personally advise clients on style, fabric, fit, and wardrobe strategy
Take measurements, conduct fittings, and follow up on production with precision
Handle client concerns with care, calm, and a focus on long-term retention

Maintain rigorous CRM usage - every client interaction tracked, every follow-up
executed
Team Leadership & Coaching
Recruit, onboard, and coach your team to Surmesur standards
Lead 1:1s, performance conversations, and ongoing development plans
Hold accountability clearly and early - recognize what's working, address what isn't
Be the culture carrier in your store - engagement and pride start with you
Track team goal completion and actively drive individual performance
Market Development
Identify local lead generation opportunities - events, networking, weddings,
partnerships
Plan and execute a minimum of 12 in-store and local activations per year
Build ties with the local business community and collaborate on sponsorships
Know your market and see its opportunities before anyone else does
Operations & Administration
Manage scheduling, payroll inputs, expenses, and inventory with discipline
Ensure order reception and client communication within 48 hours
Maintain alteration turnaround times of two weeks or less
Ensure CRM data quality and accuracy on a daily basis
Manage commissions, sales splits, deposits, and cash closings

What We're Looking For
Proven experience leading a team - retail, hospitality, or consultative sales
A genuine passion for the client experience and relationship-based selling
Comfort with a longer sales cycle - you understand that great clients are built, not
rushed
The ability to manage both people and operations without letting either suffer
A coaching mindset - you measure your success through your team's growth
Strong presence in your community - connected and always looking to grow the
network
Sharp with numbers - you know your KPIs and you act on them
Bilingualism is a strong asset.

What We Offer
Compensation
Base salary aligned to your experience

Personal sales commission - 1% on your personal sales
Quarterly performance bonuses tied to client retention, team development, brand
standards, and market growth - Total annual bonus potential $15000 - $30000
Total compensation potential of $85,000-$100,000+ depending on your store and
performance
$2,200 clothing annually and paid every six months
60% employee discount
Business credit card, computer, and cellphone allowance
Quality of Life
3 weeks vacation, 5 sick days, personal days accruing with tenure
Group insurance and savings programs (after 3-month,)
Regular boutique hours - closed Sundays and Mondays
Growth
Annual management meetings
Ongoing training in leadership, operations, and business development
Direct mentorship from the sales leadership team
Real paths to multi-boutique or head office roles

Our Values
Be Creative - push limits, think differently, bring new ideas
Take Action - be proactive, move with agility
Be Better - commit to continuous growth, professionally and personally
Have Fun - bring energy, make the environment worth showing up for
