Purchasing Agent
Roll-Up Door, Inc. is a growing business in Blackshear, GA. We are a professional and agile company. Our company designs, sells, manufactures, roll-up doors for both the self-storage industry, commercial, and residential buildings. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for ordering supplies for the Roll-Up Door division. The candidate should have a minimum of two years of experience providing support at a high level. Prior experience in a manufacturing setting or other related industry is a plus.
We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing and managing the inventory of all items necessary to manufacture metal roll-up doors. This position is a hands-on role which requires extensive knowledge of purchasing procedures and excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Salary commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
  • Purchases supplies, materials, and parts for the company
  • Negotiates and completes contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery times
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordingly
  • Maintain inventory databases for supplies and materials used
  • Collaborates with sales, customer service, and logistics departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department
  • Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery quality, price, or conditions of sale
  • Purchases large and complex items
Qualifications
