About the Role
How you will contribute
• Perform purchasing activities, such as: reviewing requisitions and advising departments on the appropriateness and adequacy of specifications for a variety of specialized items, selecting qualified bidders, securing quotations, making awards, reviewing departmental and vendor complaints, recommending action, and performing expediting functions.
• Assists in the review and acceptance of simple contract documents i.e. maintenance agreements.
• Provide oral and written interpretation of policies and procedures, rules and regulations, revised statutes, and internal guidelines to plant personnel and vendors.
• Input and maintain purchase orders, files for purchases, requisitions, and receiving slips/documents in SAP.
• Ensure the retention of records for audits.
• Maintain and monitor inventory levels for general office supplies, ribbons, labels, toners etc., and place orders as needed.
• Seek out ways and means to reduce the cost and improve the quality of purchased materials.
• Work with plant manager and plant accountant to create and maintain the plant budget and ensure expenses are reported in the correct time period.
• Provide administrative and office support and coordination of resources for customer and executive visits.
• Other duties as assigned.
Your Key Qualifications
• Associates Degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent mix of education and experience. Purchasing and administrative experience a plus.
• Advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, & PowerPoint. Basic skills in Microsoft Access.
• Proficiency in SAP.
• Experience in budgeting and forecasting.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills - written and oral to deal with a wide range of customers-both internal and external.
