Overview:
Imperial Dade is the leading distributor of foodservice packaging and facilities maintenance supplies and equipment in the U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. As a provider of customized supply chain solutions, the company serves customers in many business-to-business market segments including supermarkets, grocers, healthcare facilities and restaurants.
The Junior Purchasing Agent will support inventory buying activities across multiple warehouses for Dry Goods, working on-site at our Loma Linda, CA office. This entry-level role focuses on purchase order management, inventory flow, and vendor coordination. Working closely with senior buyers, sales, and suppliers, the Junior Purchasing Agent will help ensure product availability, maintain accurate data, and support overall inventory and service level goals.
This position is ideal for someone looking to build a career in purchasing, with opportunities to grow into more strategic responsibilities over time.
Full-time Salary: $55,000 to 65,000 per year
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Responsibilities:
  • Manage creation, release and tracking of purchase orders with source supplier
  • Manage the creation and maintenance of all items for assigned vendor lines across multiple warehouses
  • Maintain a clear line of communication with both suppliers and the Sales team, to validate orders for key items and special needs, and to gain insights on the customer needs
  • Manage suppliers to negotiate and resolve performance issues having an impact on costs and customer service.
  • Expedite or defer orders as required based on inventory requirements in each location
  • Utilize existing tools and systems to analyze and take action on current inventory positions and trends
  • Develop a relationship with the entire Buying team in order to effectively understand our products and the relationships with our source suppliers

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Purchasing experience highly preferred; exposure and experience to supply chain, purchasing concepts, or inventory management is required
  • Computer literacy: Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel. An aptitude to learn other technical applications quickly.
  • Research, select, and purchase the right items / Dry Goods to fit the needs of our customers
  • Collaborative approach: Able to build effective relationships with our Sales team, Buying team, source suppliers, and other business partners.
  • Strong organizational skills: Attention to detail, urgency to follow up on open issues and drive toward closure, and simultaneously manage multiple tasks.
