Job description

A Vendor Manager of Inventory coordinates vendor managed inventory and control activities at the customer site locations. They seek to maximize customer service, satisfaction, and ultimately the availability of Capital Electric products at the point of purchase / warehouse, and add value to the business through speed of service (efficiency) and relationship management (growth).

The VMI Coordinator is responsible for onsite inventory management within an active construction environment. This role ensures accurate material availability, maintains inventory levels, and builds strong working relationships with field personnel to support job-site productivity. **This is a hands-on, field-based operational role — not a traditional VMI Coordinator Role

Core Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage onsite inventory at construction/job sites
  • Perform cycle counts, stock checks, and inventory reconciliation
  • Monitor usage trends and proactively replenish materials
  • Coordinate with purchasing and suppliers to prevent stockouts
  • Physically organize and maintain storage areas
  • Communicate directly with foremen, superintendents, and field staff
  • Resolve material discrepancies quickly and professionally
  • Ensure accurate documentation and system updates
  • Receiving all materials from trucks using forklifts, vehicles and buggies to unload and move around jobsite.
  • Matching received materials to packing slips and coordinating with customer on delivery times and material placement.
  • Using storeroom phone software to track and reorder materials.
  • Moving materials to different areas of the jobsite to replenish and track inventory.
  • Communication with customer and internal team effectively and efficiently to ensure customer satisfaction
