Used Car Sales Manager
A Rare Leadership Opportunity at One of Greater Boston's Premier Toyota Dealerships
Some opportunities change careers.
This is one of them.
Successful Used Car Managers don't spend much time looking for jobs. They're building profitable operations, leading successful teams, and they're highly valued where they are. That's exactly why opportunities like this rarely become available.
Herb Chambers Toyota has recently relocated to a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility directly off I-93 North and South at Exit 21. The result is exactly what every Used Car Manager wants: significantly increased traffic, expanding market share, and a growing pipeline of new customers creating tremendous retail opportunity.
We're looking for an exceptional automotive leader who sees more than inventory-they see opportunity.
This isn't simply a position to manage an existing department. It's an opportunity to build, shape, and lead a high-volume used vehicle operation with the support, resources, and customer traffic to become one of the best and largest operations in the Boston Region.
If you've ever wanted the freedom to run your department the right way-without unnecessary bureaucracy-this is your opportunity.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
You'll have the autonomy to make decisions.
You'll have the accountability to own the results.
You'll have the support of one of the most respected automotive organizations in the country, with resources to support your efforts.
This role offers the rare combination of entrepreneurial freedom backed by the financial strength, systems, and resources of a Fortune 250 Automotive company.
If you're driven by performance, data, motivated by building great teams, and energized by winning, you'll find everything you need to thrive here.
For the right leader, this isn't simply the next job.
It's the opportunity to build something you'll be proud to lead.
What You'll Be Responsible For
As Used Car Sales Manager, you'll have full operational responsibility for the Used Vehicle Department, including:
  • Driving retail sales performance, profitability, inventory turn, and departmental growth
  • Developing and coaching a high-performing sales team
  • Building a culture focused on guest experience, accountability, and results
  • Purchasing inventory through auctions, off-lease channels, and acquisition opportunities
  • Managing appraisals, pricing strategy, inventory aging, and on-line merchandising
  • Partnering with service, reconditioning, finance, and third-party vendors to maximize efficiency
  • Utilizing data and market analytics to make profitable inventory decisions
  • Maintaining inventory turn goals while maximizing gross profit
  • Leading by example in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

We're Looking For Someone Who...
You don't simply sell cars-you understand the business behind them.
You're passionate about used vehicle operations.
You know your numbers.
You study your inventory.
You understand market trends before they become obvious.
You make decisions based on data-not emotion.
You're competitive, but collaborative.
You enjoy developing people as much as developing profits.
Most importantly, you're looking for an opportunity where your effort, leadership, and vision directly impact your success.
Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of automotive retail management experience
  • Proven success managing a high-performing used vehicle operation
  • Strong inventory management and appraisal expertise
  • Experience purchasing inventory through auctions and multiple acquisition channels

  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

What You'll Receive
Compensation: $200,000+
Your compensation is driven by performance. The more value you create, the greater your earning potential.
In addition, you'll enjoy:
  • Balanced management schedule
  • Weekly pay
  • Paid holidays and PTO
  • Medical, dental, vision and life insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid parental leave
  • Professional development and leadership training
  • Career advancement opportunities throughout Asbury Automotive Group
  • Employee discounts
  • Recognition programs and stock award opportunities for eligible leaders
