Supply Chain & Materials Manager
Location: Boxborough, MA
Reports to: Director of Operations
At Gems Setra, part of Ralliant, we're looking for a Supply Chain & Materials Manager to lead the end-to-end supply chain operations for our Boxborough manufacturing site.
Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, you will lead planning, purchasing, inventory management, receiving, shipping, and warehouse operations while driving improvements in customer delivery, inventory optimization, supplier performance, and operational excellence.
This is a highly visible leadership role with the opportunity to influence site strategy, develop a talented team, and partner closely with leaders across Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Global Supply Chain. You'll play a critical role in supporting continued business growth while helping to shape the future of supply chain operations within a culture built on continuous improvement and the Ralliant Business System (RBS).
What You'll Do
Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team
  • Lead a team of 4 buyers responsible for planning, purchasing, inventory control, receiving, warehousing, and shipping.
  • Coach, develop, and engage associates while building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Drive workforce capability through training, standard work, and succession planning.
  • Serve as a key member of the site Operations Leadership Team.

Drive Operational Performance
  • Ensure material availability to support production schedules and customer commitments.
  • Improve on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, inventory turns, and working capital performance.
  • Lead demand planning, supply planning, and inventory management strategies.
  • Establish and monitor key supply chain performance metrics.
  • Manage material flow from suppliers through manufacturing and customer shipment.

Strengthen Supplier and Supply Chain Effectiveness
  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing to improve supplier performance, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Drive supplier accountability through scorecards, reviews, and corrective action processes.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while developing contingency plans.
  • Support sourcing strategies that improve resilience, lead times, and cost competitiveness.

Improve the Business
  • Lead Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
  • Implement and sustain pull systems, Kanban replenishment, inventory optimization, and material flow improvements.
  • Apply Ralliant Business System (RBS) tools to improve operational performance and eliminate waste.
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve processes that impact customer delivery, inventory, and productivity.

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years' experience leading supply chain, materials, planning, purchasing, or inventory management functions within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven leadership experience developing teams and driving results.
  • Strong understanding of demand planning, production planning, inventory management, purchasing, and supplier management.
  • Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems and supply chain analytics.
  • Demonstrated success improving operational performance through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Kanban, pull systems, inventory optimization, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • APICS/CPIM, CSCP, Lean, or similar professional certification.
  • Experience working within a business system environment such as RBS, DBS, FBS, or equivalent continuous improvement frameworks.
