The Group Director, Inventory & Flow Planning provides strategic leadership for the development and evolution of inventory planning and flow capabilities across Walmart's merchandising ecosystem. This leader drives enterprise initiatives that improve inventory productivity, in-stock performance, customer experience, and supply chain efficiency. Working across Merchandising, Supply Chain, eCommerce, Product, Engineering, and Data Science, the Group Director develops long-term strategies, influences executive decision-making, and leads teams responsible for transforming how inventory is planned, positioned, and fulfilled across the network. Through innovation, advanced analytics, and operational excellence, this role helps shape Walmart's future inventory strategy while ensuring products are available for customers when and where they want them at the lowest possible cost.
About the Team
The Inventory & Flow Planning team is responsible for shaping the future of inventory management across Walmart's merchandising network. The team develops strategies, capabilities, and analytical solutions that improve inventory productivity, optimize product flow, and enhance customer availability while reducing cost. By partnering closely with Merchandising, Supply Chain, eCommerce, Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams, the organization drives innovation and enables scalable solutions that support Walmart's growth and omnichannel transformation.

  • Define and execute the long-term vision and strategy for inventory and flow planning capabilities across Walmart.
  • Lead large-scale initiatives that improve inventory productivity, in-stock performance, network efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Partner with senior leaders across Merchandising, Supply Chain, eCommerce, Product, Engineering, and Data Science to align priorities and drive enterprise outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory positioning, flow optimization, forecasting, replenishment strategies, and inventory productivity through innovative solutions.
  • Influence business decisions through data-driven insights, scenario planning, and executive-level recommendations.
  • Lead the development and implementation of new capabilities, tools, and operating models that support Walmart's evolving omnichannel ecosystem.
  • Drive strategic investments and priorities by evaluating emerging technologies, advanced analytics, and automation opportunities.
