Job description

Work Status: Contingent Upon Contract Award

Spectrum Comm Inc is looking for 5 expert Inventory Management Specialists candidates to advise on strategic sustainment acquisition phases of assigned systems, programs, or major equipment.

Position Summary

An ideal candidate will be an experienced Journeymen Inventory Management Specialist (IMS) with at least eight years of Air Force Supply Chain Management experience to perform all facets of IMS principles, procedures, techniques, and practices associated with IMS workload within the 638 Supply Chain Management Group. Support includes requirements definition, performance assessment, specification development, risk assessment and mitigation, configuration and data management, product hardware and software testing, safety, quality assurance, enterprise repair, reliability and maintainability, and technology transfer and insertion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all facets of IMS (series 2010) principles, procedures, techniques, and practices associated with IMS Workload regarding Air Force Supply Chain Management.
  • Provide experience and insight in working with Government systems and processes.
  • Work with IPTs on specific weapons systems, subsystems, or programs to analyze installation and Major Command planning and programming documents to determine the nature and scope of acquisition and sustainment efforts.
  • Provide assistance and guidance on logistics systems and processes related to their series to other personnel in their assigned area.
  • Perform activities involving supply chain management systems and processes including developing tactical and strategic acquisition strategies.
  • Support the development of Requirements Approval Documents (RAD).
  • Make use of/provide assistance and guidance in the use of the Purchase Request Process System (PRPS), Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF), the Logistics Installations and Mission Support Enterprise View (LIMS-EV) system, the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Asset Visibility system, the Commercial Asset Visibility Air Force (CAV-AF) system, and the Planning for DLA Managed Consumables (PDMC)/ Demand Data Exchange (DDE) system.
  • Develop/assist with how to build a program continuity book, lead an IPT, develop bullet background papers, retention letters, packages, and Market Research reports.
  • Specialized Knowledge:
    • Previous Inventory Management Specialist experience (either contractor or government).
    • Experience with and knowledge of DoD 4140.1-R, AFMCI 23-101, AFMAN 23-110, AFMCM 65-33, D220 User Guide; DoD 4140.26-M, DoD 4100.39-M, AFMCM 23-3.
    • Proficiency with the Web, MS Office, and SharePoint.
    • Expert functional and technical skills as required.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in DoW logistics or aircraft maintenance/sustainment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting logistics planning, coordination, or program execution in a military or defense environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce professional guidance, reports, memorandums, and briefings.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple functional areas and maintain visibility on competing priorities and schedules.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Associate's Degree (a Bachelor's degree is preferred) and 5+ years of work-related experience or a combination of both. CCAF Degree can substitute for the Associate's Degree from a College or University.
  • Prior military (USAF preferred) AFSC 2S0XI Materiel Management Specialist
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting installation-level bed-down, deployment, or mission transition activities.
  • Familiarity with aircraft sustainment planning processes and AFMC Supply Chain processes.
  • Experience working with Wing and Major Command level supply chain entities.
  • Background in Air Force or defense logistics environments strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to support senior leaders with concise, accurate, and timely information.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of aircraft logistics, maintenance, and sustainment operations.
  • Ability to track multiple actions simultaneously and ensure timely follow-through.
  • Skilled in preparing executive-level written products and oral briefings.
  • Strong coordination and organizational skills with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify conflicts and recommend solutions in complex operational environments.
  • Professional judgment and the ability to communicate effectively with leadership and cross-functional teams.
