Lake Lawn Resort is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk - Food & Beverage Purchasing & Inventory to join our Purchasing and Receiving team. This role is responsible for receiving, inspecting, organizing, and distributing food, beverage, and non-food deliveries throughout the resort. The ideal candidate is highly organized, accurate, and comfortable working with inventory, invoices, purchase orders, and food safety standards in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

What You'll Do

  • Receive, inspect, and check in deliveries of food, beverages, liquor, and non-food supplies
  • Verify deliveries against purchase orders and invoices, confirming item quantities, pricing, quality, and condition. 
  • Identify and communicate delivery shortages, substitutions, damaged products, or other discrepancies to the appropriate departments. 
  • Receive, store, and distribute food and beverage products according to established resort procedures. 
  • Maintain proper FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory rotation to ensure product freshness and minimize waste. 
  • Date, label, and properly store perishable food items in accordance with food safety standards. 
  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary food and beverage storage areas, coolers, freezers, and receiving spaces. 
  • Fulfill department requisitions for food, beverage, and non-food supplies. 
  • Prepare daily receiving reports and assist with accurate processing of food and beverage invoices. 
  • Assist the Purchasing and Receiving Manager with liquor inventory and perpetual inventory control
  • Assist with monthly food and beverage inventory counts and reporting. 
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of high-cost meats throughout storerooms, coolers, and freezers. 
  • Assist with food and non-food purchasing inventories and ordering needs for the Executive Chef. 
  • Prepare and ship packages, ensuring orders are accurate and delivered on time. 
  • Communicate with departments regarding incoming deliveries and ensure received products are distributed promptly. 
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized loading dock, receiving area, and dumpster area. 
  • Follow all resort safety, sanitation, food handling, and inventory control procedures. 
  • Complete receiving and inventory documentation accurately and on time. 
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Purchasing and Receiving Manager or Supervisor. 

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Previous receiving, warehouse, inventory, purchasing, food & beverage, hospitality, grocery, or stockroom experience preferred. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with quantities, invoices, purchase orders, and inventory. 
  • Basic math and computer skills. 
  • Ability to understand and follow FIFO food inventory practices and food safety procedures. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and communicate issues professionally. 
  • Experience with inventory management or purchasing systems preferred. 
  • Previous experience handling food, beverage, or perishable products preferred. 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple resort departments. 
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment. 
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays as needed. 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift. 
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions. 
  • Ability to lift and move food cases, beverage products, boxes, and other supplies. 
  • Ability to work in refrigerated coolers and freezer environments for periods of time. 
  • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate pallet jacks and other receiving equipment. 
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift. 

Work Environment

  • Active receiving, warehouse, and food & beverage storage environment. 
  • Regular exposure to loading docks, coolers, freezers, and outdoor delivery areas. 
  • Frequent interaction with vendors, delivery drivers, chefs, managers, and resort team members. 
  • Fast-paced environment requiring accuracy, organization, and timely distribution of products. 
  • Exposure to varying temperatures when moving between indoor storage areas and loading docks.
