About the Position
As an Electrical Estimator, you will assist the preconstruction and project management teams with preconstruction services including preparation of estimates, proposal and bid reviews, document reviews, cost value analysis, cost and systems review, analysis and comparisons, historical evaluations, and bid processes.
Our Estimators play a key role in coordinating estimate take-offs and leading teams on some of the industry's most challenging projects.

Day in the Life
  • Plans and monitors the estimating activities of each project for quality and accuracy of work.
  • Reviews all bidding documents and works with the project manager and chief estimator to determine general expenses, labor rates, and other costs.
  • Utilizes estimating software to properly estimate projects.
  • Surveys job sites as needed for scope of work and cost-effective planning.
  • Composes estimate documents in an accurate, complete, and professional manner.
  • Assists in interview procurement, proposal writing for RFPs, bids, and related reports.
  • Ensure all estimates and RFPs meet customer and company satisfaction standards.
  • Collaborates with purchasing to reduce material buyout risk.
  • Partners with design teams on design build and design assist projects.
  • Provides coaching, mentoring, and training to co-workers as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in construction management or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year of electrical construction experience in estimating, coding requirements, and design/build and plan/spec estimating.
  • Excellent communication skills including documentation and report preparation.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical contracts, plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical code.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Travel
  • Occasional travel may be required.
