Job Description
We are in search of a Food Service Purchasing/Procurement Agent to join our growing team. This role will Purchase of mainly food items equipment, tools, parts, supplies, or services necessary for the operation of an establishment. Purchase raw or semifinished materials for manufacturing. May negotiate contracts.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Responsible for the effective and accurate performance of assigned clerical and purchasing functions.
  • Executes reports and compiles information to share with the buyers, operations and vendors as necessary.
  • Actively resolve issues or concerns that pertain to work related and assigned tasks.
  • Follows up with suppliers regarding status checks on purchase orders and creates/adjusts orders as needed.
  • Replenishes stock in a timely manner to avoid being out of stock. Verify quantity and quality of stock received from manufacturers.
  • Prepares a variety of documents, reports, and records.
  • Balance all invoices against order confirmation along with freight charges and quantities received.
  • Issue credits and return authorization for all short, damaged and/or expired products.
  • Completes miscellaneous purchasing and clerical duties as assigned.
  • Works directly with Management & Sales Reps on researching new products and providing costs.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective, professional business relations with suppliers.
  • Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems or concerns.
  • Attends and participates in meetings as required.
  • Completes special projects as assigned

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to research, solve problems, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual (English required, Spanish speaking ability strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player
  • Discreet and trustworthy, with the ability to handle highly confidential information
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and general knowledge of computer hardware, software, and office systems
  • Knowledge of administrative and office procedures, including word processing, file and record management, and workplace terminology
  • Understanding of customer and personal service principles, including assessing customer needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating satisfaction
  • Familiarity with sales and marketing principles, including product promotion, sales techniques, and marketing strategies
  • 1-2 years of foodservice experience purchasing food products preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred

Compensation & Benefits:
The pay range for this role is $32.00 - $34.00 per hour. This range represents what the company reasonably expects to pay an associate for this role based on current market data, internal equity, and other business factors. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other considerations.
