Purchasing Agent

Job Summary:

The Purchasing Agent plays a key role in supporting the company’s supply chain by sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing components required to produce high-quality LED lighting systems. This position will work closely with various departments, including planning, quality, marketing, sales, customer service, and production, to ensure that customer needs are met efficiently and effectively. The Purchasing Agent will also help enforce a strong inventory turnover rate and contribute to continuous improvement within the supply chain processes. This position reports to the Supply Chain Manager and will work directly with the planning team members.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Sourcing & Procurement: Identify and source reliable suppliers for materials and components required for production. Negotiate competitive pricing, delivery terms, and lead times to meet operational and customer demands.
  • Inventory Management: Collaborate with the planning team to ensure inventory levels are maintained for optimal stock levels while enforcing a strong inventory turnover rate. Ensure that all components are available when needed for production without overstocking.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency of the procurement process. Identify opportunities to streamline sourcing, reduce costs, and improve supplier performance.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while continuously searching for new suppliers to enhance the strength and reliability of the supply chain. Evaluate suppliers based on performance, cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, material availability, and supplier changes to proactively address any potential disruptions in the supply chain.
  • Logistics: Coordinate domestic and international freight shipments, ensuring timely delivery of materials and components while optimizing shipping costs and managing logistics documentation
