Position Summary / Why This Role Matters

BFC Solutions is seeking a hands-on Production Inventory Control Specialist to help keep materials moving accurately and efficiently through our Freeland Manufacturing plant. This role supports production by maintaining accurate inventory records, organizing raw materials, components, work-in-process, and finished goods, and partnering with Plant Operations, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Receiving, and Production. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, comfortable working on the plant floor, and committed to clean, safe, organized inventory practices. This position directly supports production uptime, cost control, inventory accuracy, and an organized manufacturing environment.

What You Will Do

Inventory Accuracy and Reporting

  • Perform scheduled and ad hoc cycle counts of raw materials, components, work-in-process, and finished goods.
  • Accurately enter, update, and validate inventory transactions in ERP/WMS or other designated systems, including receipts, transfers, staging activity, adjustments, production usage, and month-end reporting.
  • Research inventory discrepancies to root cause, document findings, and escalate corrections or required follow-up.
  • Support daily and month-end inventory reporting for the Freeland Manufacturing plant.

Production and Material Flow

  • Coordinate with Production to stage, organize, and verify materials needed to support manufacturing schedules and reduce downtime.
  • Provide timely inventory information to Supply Chain and Purchasing to support replenishment and prevent material shortages.
  • Support receiving activity as priorities and workload allow, including receipt of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Identify and report damaged, obsolete, slow-moving, excess, or at-risk inventory.

5S, Safety, and Continuous Improvement

  • Support 5S practices across inventory and warehouse areas, including Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain.
  • Maintain organized inventory locations, labeling systems, storage practices, and visual management tools.
  • Help identify and eliminate waste, including misplaced materials, excess movement, overstocking, unsafe storage conditions, and inefficient material flow.
  • Report safety hazards, damaged materials, equipment concerns, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly.
What We Are Looking For

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, inventory control, or supply chain environment.
  • Experience performing cycle counts, reconciling counts, documenting discrepancies, and following standard inventory procedures.
  • Ability to use basic computer applications and plant systems to enter, track, and report inventory information.
  • Basic Microsoft Office/Excel skills and strong math/counting accuracy.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite in a manufacturing/warehouse environment and meet essential physical demands, including frequent standing and walking and lifting/moving up to 50 lbs. using safe lifting techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, problem-solving, and professional communication skills.

Preferred

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, operations, or a related field.
  • Experience with ERP/WMS systems, production reporting systems, or inventory control software.
  • Experience with 5S, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or inventory audit processes.
  • Forklift, pallet jack, or other material handling equipment experience, if applicable.
Success Measures
  • Inventory accuracy and timely completion of assigned cycle counts and inventory reporting.
  • Reduction in inventory discrepancies, material shortages, and preventable downtime.
  • Clean, organized, labeled, and safe inventory/storage areas aligned with 5S expectations.
  • Timely communication with Production, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Receiving, and Plant leadership.
  • Accurate support for month-end inventory close and daily transaction reporting.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
  • Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing/warehouse environment, including regular presence on the production floor and possible indoor/outdoor production areas.
  • May be exposed to noise, dust, moving equipment, and varying temperatures; PPE must be worn as required by task, area, and company policy.
  • Requires frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting, reaching, bending, handling/gripping, and other movements associated with inventory, warehouse, and production support.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. using safe lifting techniques.
  • Occasional overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required based on production needs.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.
Equal Opportunity and Important Notices
  • BFC Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer and makes employment decisions without regard to any status protected by applicable law.
  • Employment is at-will unless otherwise stated in a signed written agreement.
  • Offers may be contingent on job-related background screening, drug screening, and/or motor vehicle record review, if applicable, consistent with applicable law.
