Job Title: Warehouse/Receiving Specialist

Reports to: Warehouse Manager 

Location: Bronx, NY 


Position Summary: Kommissary is a social enterprise on a mission to spread joy through food. We produce and deliver high volumes of meals spanning a diverse array of cuisines to every demographic in New York City. Kommissary is seeking a Warehouse/ Receiving Specialist that will work efficiently in a high-paced environment, using good verbal and written communication skills. This person should have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented person with a stable work history for this job. Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Sign for and verify deliveries by box count (Receiving).
  • Cross-reference packing slips, certificates of conformance to items received (Receiving).
  • Pick items from stock as per stock withdrawal or manager request.
  • Ensure all items are labeled and packed appropriately for shipping.
  • Maintain neat, orderly workstations and warehouse storage.
  • Inspect items for physical or cosmetic damage, noting and reporting any irregularity.
  • Complete material discrepancy forms as deemed necessary, and liaise with purchasing agent for corrective action.
  • Receive POs on system, assign warehouse locations,  and ensure items are available for picking.
  • Verify items are picked correctly for billing  (Invoicing).
  • Validate stock withdrawal parameters (collect/prepaid) and calculate freight accordingly.
  • Create shipping labels for boxes – with correct addresses and ship methods.

Qualifications:

  • Able to read alpha and numeric codes from pick sheets and slots.
  • Able to consistently meet minimum production standards.
  • Able to operate electronic pallet jacks to stack cases on pallets and shrink wrap completed order.
  • Able to select orders accurately and quickly.
  • Able to work overtime when necessary.
  • High school or equivalent.
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • Can lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
  • Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required.

Compensation & Benefits: Pay range is $19.00 -$20.00, depending on skill level, experience and/or education.
