Position Summary
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels, monitoring material usage trends, and ensuring that all operational departments have the materials needed to function efficiently. This role supports warehouse, production, research and development, and facilities and materials management team by maintaining inventory integrity, optimizing stock organization, and preventing stockouts or excess inventory.
This position requires someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, process-driven, and capable of identifying inefficiencies in inventory workflows. The ideal candidate will be skilled in monitoring inventory movement, performing reconciliations, and collaborating with internal teams to maintain accurate stock levels across multiple systems.   • Inventory Monitoring and Accuracy
    • Maintain accurate inventory counts across all stocked materials and ensure alignment between physical inventory and system records.
    • Perform routine cycle counts, reconciliations, and discrepancy investigations to maintain inventory integrity.
  • Inventory Organization and Stock Control
    • Maintain organized inventory storage using best practices such as FIFO and FEFO rotation methods.
    • Ensure inventory locations, bins, and shelving systems are consistently maintained and clearly labeled.
    • Perform routine review of lot numbers and expiration dates to ensure full lot traceability, proactively identify and remove near-expiration materials, and maintain compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.
  • Inventory Planning and Stock Optimization
    • Monitor inventory trends and usage patterns to ensure adequate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory and waste.
    • Assist in maintaining par levels and reorder thresholds based on dispensing and production demand.
  • Cross-Departmental Material Coordination
    • Collaborate closely with Receiving, Production, Fill, Purchasing, Research and Development, and Warehouse teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
    • Communicate inventory shortages, near-expiration items, or operational bottlenecks proactively.
  • Inventory Systems and Documentation Management
    • Maintain accurate records in inventory management systems, ensuring all adjustments, transfers, and counts are properly documented.
    • Support inventory tracking across operational systems and assist with process improvements to improve traceability and reporting.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience in Inventory, Warehouse Operations, or Supply Chain
    • At least 1 year of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or a similar operational role is preferred.

    • Ability to follow detailed job aids, SOPs, and structured workflows to maintain consistent inventory process.

    • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift packages weighing up to 50lbs as part of daily responsibilities.
