Job description

The Inventory Control Clerk supports the Inventory Control Supervisor in maintaining accurate records of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. This role ensures all inventory transactions are processed correctly and efficiently to support production schedules and prevent shortages or overages. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

· Perform daily inventory activities, including receiving, storing, issuing, and counting of materials.

· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the inventory system.

· Assist in conducting regular cycle counts and monthly physical inventories.

· Identify and report discrepancies or damaged materials to the Inventory Control Supervisor.

· Help organize and maintain warehouse areas, labeling, and bin locations for efficient storage.

· Support the movement of materials between departments and facilities as required.

· Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, and Shipping to ensure timely material availability.

· Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.

· Follow all safety procedures and company policies while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

· Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Experience & Qualifications:

Required:

· 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or material handling environment

· Basic understanding of inventory management systems and practices

· Experience with QuickBooks or similar inventory tracking software

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate material handling equipment

· Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic

Preferred:

· Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

· Forklift certification or OSHA safety training

· Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S practices

· Associate's degree or coursework in Supply Chain, Business, or related field

Work Environment:

· Industrial warehouse/manufacturing floor with exposure to machinery, noise, and fluctuating temperatures

· Must wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety protocols
