You will ensure all pumps are maintained to the highest standards for reliability and safety before and after rental. In this role, you will also support management by promoting safe work practices, improving operational workflows within the pump service area, and enhancing equipment quality through preventive maintenance and thorough inspections. Additionally, you will assist in the development and mentoring of junior technicians to build a strong, skilled team capable of meeting customer needs and maintaining our reputation for dependable equipment.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Perform pump performance testing, calibrations, and adjustments using diagnostic tools to ensure proper operation and compliance with specifications.
  • Fabricate, modify, or repair pump-related parts and fittings as needed, including light welding or brazing when required.
  • Complete all documentation (work orders, parts orders, inspections, warranty support, comments, and time sheets) accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established time, quality standards, and safety procedures to ensure reliable equipment for customers.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner.
  • Additional duties as assigned by manager.
Who We Are Looking For:
To be successful in this position, you should have a strong mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of tools and equipment used for pump maintenance and repair. Familiarity with centrifugal, trash, submersible, diaphragm, and high-pressure pumps is a plus, and you should have the desire to learn and grow your technical skills. A strong sense of urgency and commitment to providing superior customer service is essential, as you will play a key role in ensuring pumps are ready for rental and meet performance standards. The ability to follow direction, work collaboratively in a team environment, and maintain a focus on safety and quality will be critical to your success in this role.
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • Knowledge of pump systems including hydraulics, electrical components, mechanical assemblies, and the use of diagnostic test equipment to troubleshoot and repair centrifugal, trash, submersible, diaphragm, and high-pressure pumps.
  • Ability to safely operate and test pumps and related equipment; follow oral and written instructions; read and understand operator and repair manuals; work cooperatively with others; work independently with minimal supervision; and maintain accurate service records.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information such as schematics, technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Ability to operate service vehicles and equipment with all necessary licenses and certifications.
  • Skilled in basic computer applications including email, internet usage, and equipment diagnostic software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through email, including sending and receiving notes and attachments.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to ask and respond to technical questions from customers and supervisors.
