Job description

Description:

Bioenergy Development Group, a biodiesel manufacturer, is currently seeking a Pump Mechanic to support its forty (40) million-gallon production facility in Memphis, TN. The Bioenergy Group Development, Memphis facility produces biodiesel from multiple feedstocks, including vegetable oil, animal fats, and used cooking oil.

The Pump Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various types of pumps to ensure efficient and safe operation in a manufacturing setting. The Pump Mechanic will collaborate with plant mechanics, engineers, and management to troubleshoot complex systems and to provide technical support to Operations.

Requirements:
  • Capable and knowledgeable of working on a variety of pumps.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fluid dynamics.
  • Understand the range of tasks to maintain industrial pump systems.
  • Installation and set-up of new pumps and related equipment.
  • Inspection and diagnosis of mechanical issues in pumps, valves, compressors, motors, and controls.
  • Repair and replacement of worn or damaged parts, including rebuilding gearboxes and fluid ends to maintain pump systems.
  • Provide preventative maintenance to prolong equipment life and prevent breakdowns.
  • Tesi and conduct operational checks to ensure pumps meet performance and safety standards.
  • Can collaborate across the organization to ensure efficiency, safety, and reliability of plant pump systems.
  • Safely operate mobile equipment such as fork trucks, hand trucks, lifts, boom lifts etc.
  • Use basic hand and power tools and possess a basic understanding of belts, belt drives, chain drives, gear boxes and conveyors.
  • Read and interpret written description or engineering drawing relative to the maintenance function planned or performed.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Communicate appropriately with other employees
  • Participate in morning meetings
  • Possess practical knowledge of BQ 9000 concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Understand Bioenergy Quality Policy and dedication to consistently and safely provide quality products that meet the needs of our customers
  • May serve on an Employee Safety (Involvement) Committee
