Job description

Applied Technical Services, LLC (“ATS” or the “Company”) is a leading provider of critical testing, inspection, certification, and compliance services. The Position: We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven professional responsible for revenue generation and market expansion for our Calibration services business.  The primary territory will be the states of IN, MI and OH, with additional responsibility in other parts of our Midwestern region. You will be responsible for driving sales growth by expanding contacts with each assigned customer and selling the core offerings, developing and managing long-term client relationships, and delivering innovative solutions across critical industries including aerospace, automotive, pharmaceuticals, health and life sciences, food and beverage, defense, power generation, chemicals, construction, and pulp & paper.

The successful candidate will be based in or near Ft. Wayne, South Bend, Ann Arbor, or Toledo areas.  

Responsibilities:

• Identify sales leads and collect pertinent information from clients with responsibility for achieving designated growth targets

• Proactively engage in outside selling activities with roughly 150 –200 customer locations, expanding relationships within these accounts.

• Inform clients about ATS services and provide demonstrations

• Cultivate relationships with existing clients to secure their future business

• Utilize customer service and negotiation skills to close deals

• Use CRM software and update database regularly

• Support industry and Company related events and activities, including but not limited to retailer events/demos, trade shows, training schools, and regional training center activities.

• Develop mutually beneficial, respectful, and effective relationships with peers to ensure seamless coordination between departments, maximize synergy, and maintain a shared vision, strategy, and focus.

Required Experience and Skills:

  •  3-5 years of proven experience in proactive outside selling, preferably with experience in calibration, technical sales, or related industries, with a strong track record of achieving results
  • Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or trade certificates preferred, or equivalent work experience in professional selling in industrial or technical environments
  • Conduct at least 60% of time in the field engaging with the customers and locations in assigned territory
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical or industrial sales, preferably within critical industries
  • Strong understanding of technical services and their applications, with the ability to convey complex solutions clearly
  • Familiarity with quality, safety, or reliability processes and regulations within relevant industries.
  • Market knowledge of local and geographic dynamics affecting customer needs and buying behaviors
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able and willing to work necessary hours to meet all project deadlines

Additional requirements:

  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Work Conditions:

  • Work is performed primarily in an office environment with regular travel to company offices and client locations within assigned territory
