Process Engineer - Pulp & Energy

The location in Nekoosa, (Wisconsin, United States), is seeking talent to fill the position of Process Engineer - Pulp & Energy. This job is full-time permanent.

Position Description:

Primary responsibilities include promoting safety, quality improvements, new product development, process optimization, and cost reduction. Utilization of continuous improvement methodologies essential for efficient problem solving and execution of process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be a role model for safety by promoting a safe work environment and by engaging in safety initiatives
  • Support high quality product standards and works to reduce product/process variability
  • Provide technical assistance to the production areas
  • Leads and initiates process optimization/improvement efforts and implementing cost reduction initiatives. Including trial plan development
  • Focus on cost optimization by initiating and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Interface with outside technical resources and suppliers to initiate cost reduction, quality enhancement and process improvement trials
  • Build positive relationships with the hourly workforce and provide technical training on process improvements and process changes that impact safety, quality, costs, operations, and efficiencies
  • Develop leadership skillset and take on increasing levels of supervisor responsibilities
  • Provide weekend coverage for the Kraft Mill on a rotating basis

Position Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of engineering experience in an industrial environment, preferably pulp & paper, or other heavy industrial manufacturing environment
  • Industrial process familiarity and experience which demonstrates process troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving abilities
  • Strong technical proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft products
  • Strong communication and organization skills
  • BS Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper Science, Chemistry or related field

You will be required to successfully complete a selection process that could include interviews, an employment background check, a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, reference verifications, aptitude tests (for some positions), and a fitness-for-duty test (for some positions).
