Position Title: 

First Line Leader - Finished Products Business Unit 

 

Pay Rate

$89,000 - $118,600

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform: 

  • Provide visible and active leadership in delivering excellent safety results

  • Participate as a member of the Finished products Business Unit

  • Report and communicate safety and performance measurements against objectives

  • Conduct one to one developmental discussions and coach employees to accomplish team goals

  • Provide direct support for and participation in the mill's structured cost reduction efforts/teams

  • Maintain strong relationships with other Finished Products personnel as well as operating and maintenance department leaders

  • Enforce corrective actions to address problems

  • Coordinate training and development for crews as required

  • Actively use and improve upon existing systems for managing daily operations

  • Ensure teams understand how to win, utilizing Daily Management System concepts and tools (OWS)

  • Communicate the status of department operations to crews, within the business unit and with other areas of the mill 

  • Initiate and facilitate problem solving (TCC)

  • Implement systems to improve/sustain results

  • Facilitate the implementation of new procedures and controls required by the change in facilities, products, and corporate policies and procedures

  • Work day shift or rotating shifts as department staffing requires

  • Instill the concepts of 80/20 in the daily operations of the business unit 

The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring: 

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in the Pulp and Paper industry is required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar STEM degree is preferred

  • Must be experienced in using a computer and skilled in word processing, spreadsheet programs (Microsoft Excel), SAP business systems and other databases
