About Us
Global Environmental & Industrial Response (GEIR) partners with clients across utilities, mining, chemical, pulp & paper, and manufacturing industries to deliver innovative environmental, health, and safety solutions. Our highly trained teams provide 24/7 industrial cleaning, hydro blasting, vacuum truck services, and specialized solutions for sulfuric acid facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and full turn-key turnaround services. We also manage waste handling, transportation, and disposal in strict compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Position Overview
Global Environmental & Industrial Response (GEIR) is seeking a driven Business Development Manager to join our team. In this key role, you will build and maintain strong client relationships, identify and pursue new business opportunities, and ensure our services are delivered to the highest standards. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams and clients to ensure satisfaction, project success, and business growth within the industrial and environmental sectors.
Essential Functions
  • Identify and capture new business opportunities across industrial facilities, refineries, and manufacturing plants.
  • Perform cold calls, plant walks, and site visits to uncover unmet industrial cleaning and waste-hauling needs.
  • Build a robust sales pipeline focused on routine facility maintenance, emergency spill responses, and major turnarounds.
  • Network with plant managers, reliability engineers, environmental health & safety (EHS) directors, and procurement teams.
  • Secure multi-year Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and blanket purchase orders to ensure recurring revenue.
  • Lead the consultative sales process, matching hydroblast automation and vac truck efficiencies to customer downtime constraints.
  • Develop and execute territory growth strategies to outmaneuver competitors in local and regional industrial hubs.
  • Collaborate closely with operations managers and project estimators to ensure accurate quote generation and job execution.
  • Review technical project blueprints, scopes of work, and request for proposals (RFPs).
  • Perform detailed site walks to assess necessary equipment.
  • Formulate precise price estimates that maximize profit margins while remaining highly competitive.
  • Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing schedules for complex service contracts.

Key Behaviors
  • Passionate, motivated, and open to growth and challenges.
  • Proactively build customer relationships and provide thoughtful solutions.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and represent Stepp's with pride.
  • Strive for continuous improvement by embracing new tools and processes.
  • Demonstrate respect toward co-workers and foster a positive team environment.
  • Promote opportunities within the company and through referrals.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum 2-5 years of industrial sales experience, explicitly selling hydroblasting, vacuum truck, industrial waste management services or adjacent industrial services.
  • Proven track record of managing large accounts and closing $1M+ annually in industrial service revenue.
  • Existing relationships within industrial facilities in Louisiana and surrounding Gulf Coast markets.
  • Deep understanding of industrial cleaning equipment including high-pressure pumps, vacuum configurations, automated tooling, and hydro-demolition.
  • Strong comprehension of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations relative to industrial cleaning and hazardous material transit.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or an equivalent technical field preferred.

Pay
  • $90,000-$100,000 Base Salary + Commission

Benefits
  • 6 Paid Holidays (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas)
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage; Free Term Life Insurance
  • Paid Time Off (accruals start on day 1; available after 90 days)
  • 401(k) match up to 4%
  • Regular pay increases and career development opportunities
  • Accident, cancer/critical illness, short-term and long-term disability, and hospital indemnity insurance available

Drug-free workplace.
Background check required.
