Description
The HR Support Associate Relations Specialist is a key partner in helping Publix remain a Great Place To Work. This role provides internal customers with effective HR solutions to meet a range of business challenges and ensure compliance with employment laws, Publix policy, and our company values. Key responsibilities include conducting investigations, making recommendations to management, providing guidance for performance management, advising leadership on policies and retention strategies, and delivering training. SARS often participate in cross-functional efforts and are trusted advisers to leaders at all levels of the organization.
This position will provide service to support (non-retail) leaders and hourly associates in South Florida.

Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month's extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in any field, or equivalent experience
  • Any combination of the following totaling two years:
    • Managing or leading people
    • Working in an HR Generalist role, including advising on employee relations, organizational development, staffing, selection/performance, etc.
    • Assessing HR-related employment situations and presenting recommendations to higher-level leaders (e.g., a manager evaluating employee performance and submitting performance reviews or pay recommendations; an HR associate investigating and responding to associate or labor relations matters, etc.)
    • Serving as an associate relations coordinator
  • must be at least 20 years old
  • must have a valid driver license and maintain an excellent driving record
  • ability and willingness to work variable and long hours in a sometimes contentious legal environment
  • flexible in dealing with a variety of situations and assignments
  • ability and willingness to travel, including overnight
  • excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • high level of maturity, discretion, tact, judgment and the ability to deal with confidential matters
  • ability to work well with others and be a team member in a positive manner
  • show enthusiasm, initiative and pride in work, and a

Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 2 years of experience managing or leading people
  • 2 years of experience in Publix management
  • 3 years of experience in an HR generalist, Associate Relations, or Labor Relations role including conducting investigations, advising on employee relations, organizational development, staffing, selection/performance, etc.
  • 1 or more years of Publix experience
  • 1 year experience as a Publix Employment Law Investigator
  • Professional or Senior Professional in Human Resources (PHR or SPHR), or Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP)
