Job description

The purpose of this position is to perform various audits to ensure proper reporting of store profit and loss (P&L) statements to retail locations and applicable support areas, and to act as a subject matter expert (SME) while providing guidance to stores regarding P&L statements.
The impact this position has on Publix is ensuring accurate weekly P&L statements are provided for key stakeholders to make accurate business decisions.
The responsibilities listed on this position analysis are not intended to be all-inclusive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for reviewing inventory documents received via Publix Connection, fax, and provided by the inventory service who counts much of the inventory, to ensure each store's adjusted ending inventory amount accurately reflects its inventory values while complying with established Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
  • Responsible for performing audits on sub-department voucher expenses and retail/cost items to ensure proper recording to Publix's financial statements.
  • Responsible for providing subject matter expertise and support to Retail Operations and Retail Leadership regarding bonuses and P&L reporting.
  • Responsible for ensuring that donation forms are properly received and accurately accounted for in preparation for potential tax saving benefits.
