Technical Program Manager - Automotive Software Testing
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead software quality assurance programs within an automotive software development environment. This role is responsible for managing project plans, coordinating cross-functional teams, supporting software testing activities, and overseeing hardware and software configuration management while ensuring successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and risk management.
  • Lead the gathering of product requirements and define project scope across multiple teams and business functions.
  • Monitor project progress and develop recovery plans when projects deviate from baseline schedules.
  • Prepare and publish project status reports for technical teams and leadership.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to support project governance activities.
  • Facilitate program-level meetings to communicate project status and coordinate cross-functional efforts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, managers, and team members to resolve issues and coordinate project execution.
  • Promote collaboration, transparency, and strong working relationships across teams.
  • Support Agile transformation initiatives and participate in Scrum ceremonies.
  • Develop test cycle plans, schedules, and timelines.
  • Define project scope by prioritizing features and systems under test according to project priorities and testing strategy.
  • Build, manage, and maintain the product backlog while ensuring visibility across the team.
  • Lead preparation of testing work items for planning activities and continue coordination throughout execution.
  • Conduct project retrospectives to support continuous process improvement.
  • Evaluate feedback throughout project iterations.
  • Define and manage hardware configurations required for testing activities.
  • Plan, procure, and maintain hardware components required for test execution.
  • Analyze bills of materials to identify appropriate hardware components and eliminate unnecessary procurement.
  • Coordinate hardware updates as required.
  • Define software test cycles aligned with software release schedules and change management processes.
  • Maintain software configuration information and communicate updates to appropriate teams.
  • Perform software updates supporting testing activities.
  • Communicate software release information to the testing team.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for test project coordination.
  • Monitor and report project execution progress, software maturity, and hardware and software defects.
  • Review project metrics and dashboards to monitor overall project health.
  • Manage the incident lifecycle to ensure timely resolution.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Automotive Software Development or Software Quality.
  • Minimum 3 years of Program Management experience.
  • Experience in Technical Program and Project Management for Software Quality Assurance.
  • Expertise in project management.
