Job description

The Corporate Communications Intern will make important contributions to the work of a major international academic publisher and gain a valuable introduction to a career in communications and publishing.

This paid, part-time internship (15-25 hours per week during normal office hours) begins summer 2025 and may extend into future semesters based on performance and continued interest. Interns may work remotely or from one of our two main US offices (Washington, DC, or Thousand Oaks, CA).

Responsibilities

The job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Support the Global Corporate Communications department in maintaining social media channels, particularly by crafting, scheduling, monitoring, engaging with, and analyzing content for Bluesky and other corporate channels as needed
  • Proofread social media posts via Hootsuite
  • Assist with monitoring and reporting online mentions of Sage and Sage-related materials and brands
  • Assist in the creation and editing of written communications related to public relations, including blog posts, press releases, and slide presentations
  • Conduct research that will bring new insights to communications, including research on industry news and events
  • Provide input to campaigns focusing on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives
  • Support internal communications, as needed, including maintenance of an internal bank of collateral, an internal news reporting blog, and media tracking and assessment
  • Track social media engagement to determine campaign performance
  • Other administrative support
Qualifications

Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:

  • Must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited college or university. Communications, English, or related program of study is preferred.
  • Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience with basic social media tools such as: Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and Squarespace/WordPress
  • Experience writing press releases, blog posts, and other public communications is preferred
  • Experience interpreting data and crafting graphs is a plus
  • Experience using social media for business (e.g., basic understanding of Hootsuite) is preferred
  • Knowledge of AP style of writing is preferred
