Created as a way to get your news fix without the stress of digging through multiple publications, Need 2 Know presents its news "over easy" - whether that be politics, business, tech, entertainment, or sports. With over 350,000 readers (and growing!), Need 2 Know is moving to the forefront of email newsletters!).

Job Description

We are seeking a sales intern with strong research and communication skills to help out our sales team. They are responsible for creating and managing ongoing business deals with potential advertisers.

We are looking for a fall intern to be available part-time (10-20hrs/wk) or full-time (40hrs/wk). Full-time is preferred. The internship is 3 months, start and end dates flexible. You will be working from our office in Manhattan.

Responsibilities

Sales / Marketing

  • Research and contact companies for potential partnership.
  • Reach out to companies via email and phone, occasionally joining in on sales calls with another team member.

Analytics

  • Update weekly statistics of newsletter in Google spreadsheet.
  • Examine trends and track growth, advertising success, etc.

Content Creation

  • Opportunity to contribute stories to the newsletter.
  • Propose any new ideas for advertising, content formats, social media, etc.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively as a team member
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with internal/external clients by phone and email
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, and Power Point)
  • A positive attitude with good organizational, presentation and writing skills
  • Pursuing a Bachelors Degree or equivalent education.
  • Should be open-minded, a fast learner, enthusiastic, and adaptable.
  • Possess skills at initiating innovative ideas, unifying team members, and judging correctly what will appeal to target audiences.
