Job description

Description
The Department of Public Service and Administration in the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University invites applications for a two-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in public policy analysis, starting in August 2026. This is an academic professional track, non-tenure accruing position. Successful candidates will be expected to carry out a vigorous program of applied, policy-relevant research, contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, and provide service to the university and the profession. We are especially interested in candidates who are well-prepared to teach applied microeconomics and public finance economics at the graduate and undergraduate levels. This is a full-time 9-month appointment with a standard 3-3 teaching load.
The Department of Public Service and Administration at the Bush School of Government and Public Service offers a nationally recognized Master's Degree program in Public Service & Administration with tracks in Policy Analysis, Public Management, Nonprofit Management and Homeland Security. We also offer an exciting new undergraduate program with majors and minors in Public Service. Our interdisciplinary faculty features scholars in public policy, public administration, nonprofit management, economics, political science, homeland security, and cultural geography. Qualifications
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in economics, public policy, political science, or a closely related field in hand by date of hire and must demonstrate a commitment to high quality research and teaching.
