ABOUT THIS ROLE 

Patrick Ta Beauty is looking for an experienced, results-driven social media director to strategize, execute and scale the brands' entire owned social portfolio from brand owned to retail partners and founder collaboration across Meta, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest. Proven beauty experience is required. This role will report to the Senior Director of Consumer Engagement. This is a full-time role based in-house in our office in West Hollywood that will oversee a team. Management experience is required. 

The ideal candidate will be an expert in social strategy with a proven history of driving social presence through strategic storytelling in a highly curated visual lens. This person has a track record in scaling a brand's social impact, driving meaningful digital storytelling, and working with cross functional retail partners on social planning. This candidate will have a refined eye for the brand's aesthetic and will be a strategic expert with a deep understanding of the social landscape. 
 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Director of Social Media will define and lead our global social media vision, building a best-in-class social ecosystem that strengthens brand equity, drives cultural relevance, and fuels business growth. This leader will drive organic social strategy, content planning, community engagement, platform innovation, and social performance across all owned channels and consult on co-founders owned channels as it related to the business. 

Social Strategy & Vision 

  • Own the long-term social media strategy aligned with brand and business objectives.  

  • Build annual social roadmaps, platform strategies, and channel-specific growth plans.  

  • Identify emerging platform opportunities, trends, and cultural moments that strengthen brand relevance with a specific focus on building out the brands owned YouTube channel. 

  • Champion social innovation while maintaining a premium, elevated brand aesthetic.  

Content Management 

  • Lead the social content strategy across Instagram, TikTok & YouTube. 

  • Develop editorial calendars supporting product launches, evergreen storytelling, artistry education, retail moments, and cultural campaigns.  

  • Partner with Creative to concept social-first campaigns that drive engagement and conversation.  

  • Ensure every piece of content reflects the brand's luxury positioning and visual identity.  

Artistry & Education 

  • Elevate artistry as the foundation of the social strategy.  

  • Partner closely with founder, PD team and product marketing to translate artistry into  highly engaging social content.  

  • Build programming that celebrates MUA founder, artists community, and education as key brand differentiator.  

  • Create scalable formats that transform artistry into consistent community engagement.  

Community & Brand Advocacy 

  • Oversee community management strategy across all social platforms.  

  • Develop initiatives that deepen relationships with consumers, creators, and makeup artists. 

  • Partner with PR and Influencer teams to amplify earned moments across social channels.  

Team Leadership 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing social media team.  

  • Establish clear priorities, workflows, and creative standards.  

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless execution across launches and campaigns.  

  • Manage social TikTok agency and freelance partners as needed.  

Analytics & Performance 

  • Define KPIs that measure awareness, engagement and community growth 

  • Continuously optimize content based on platform trends and audience behavior.  

  • Present social performance and strategic recommendations to leadership on an ongoing basis.  

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 8+ years of experience in social media with a demonstrated portfolio of work 

  • 5+ years of team management 

  • 5+ years of beauty experience  

  • Strong communication, conceptual thinking, and management skills 

  • Detail-oriented and passionate about social media 

  • Keen eye for typography, visual design and photography 

  • Strong multi-tasker and ability to handle high-volume of work under tight deadlines 

  • Organized with exceptional time-management skills

Salary Range Opportunity:

  • The hiring range for this role is $150,000 - 170,000 USD
Our salary ranges are informed by verified market data and reflect our commitment to competitive pay within our size and industry. Individual compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including role requirements, experience, skills, and alignment with internal equity. Final base pay may also vary based on geographic location and job-related expertise. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may include a bonus and a comprehensive suite of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
