Job description

We are seeking professional, dependable, and community-focused School Safety Officers to support a safe and structured learning environment within Gwinnett County Public Schools for the 2026-2027 School Year. This role is centered around prevention, visibility, and positive interaction with students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a visible presence on campus to deter and prevent safety concerns
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and campus activity throughout assigned shifts
  • Conduct routine patrols of school grounds and facilities
  • Assist with arrival, dismissal, and high-traffic periods to ensure order and safety
  • Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies
  • Enforce school policies and safety procedures in a professional manner
  • Provide support to school administrators and staff as needed
  • Complete detailed incident and activity reports

Qualifications:

  • Previous security, law enforcement, or school safety experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with students of all ages
