The Aparecio Foundation provides academic support and scholarship programs for high-potential, low-income women in public high schools through an eight-year multiple-mentor program.

This is a unpaid Volunteer / Intern position.

Job Description

The position of PR/Marketing Manager will be responsible for determining the demand for products and services offered by an organization and its competitors as well as identifying potential customers and the overall organizational need.  The position will also include the development of pricing strategies with the goal of maximizing the firm's profits or sharing of the market while ensuring that the organization's customers are satisfied. Also required is the overseeing of product development and monitoring trends that indicate the need for new products and services.

Description of Duties / Responsibilities:
Job Tasks:

  • Form, direct, and coordinate marketing activities to promote available services.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, government officials, and media representatives etc. in order to provide networking and business opportunities.
  • Assign, supervise, and review all activities of public relations staff
  • Manage communications budget
  • Consult with personnel to gain advice regarding the types of services expected within market
  • Prepare information for media kits.  
  • Evaluate advertising and promotion programs for alignment with public relations efforts.
  • Write interesting and effective press releases and respond to requests for information about employers' activities or status.
  • Draft speeches for company executives and arrange other forms of contact, such as interviews.
  • Direct activities of external agencies, establishments, and departments etc. that develop and implement communication strategies and information programs.  
  • Develop and maintain company internet/intranet web pages.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required. Masters preferred
  • 2 years' experience in field of Marketing (PR)
