Senior Project Manager, Public Works & Local Infrastructure, Phoenix, AZ
Halff has an opening for a Civil Engineer, with their Arizona PE License, to be a Project Manager on our growing Public Works & Local Infrastructure team based out of our Phoenix, AZ office. The ideal candidate would bring at least 12 or more years of experience in public works, municipal roadway, drainage, detention, water/wastewater utility design, and/or utilities design. The position will be for a Senior Project Manager interested in managing design and construction for a wide range of public and private infrastructure projects. Projects include, yet not limited to, roadways, drainage systems, water and wastewater pipelines, civil site work and associated civil improvements in land development as well as public parks and trails facilities. What you will do:
  • This role will be responsible for managing and overseeing the design and construction of infrastructure projects for the Public Works & Local Infrastructure practice.
  • This position requires strong design and project management experience and knowledge of working with local entities.
  • The role will have a large amount of autonomy in managing other professional engineers, engineers-in-training, and CAD designers.
  • Manage design and plan production as well as manage clients and supervise technical staff through workshare opportunities with various practices and offices at Halff.
  • This position shall value and be active in professional organizations that benefit the Public Works Industry.
  • Develop a network of municipal clients and teaming partners.
  • Develop and manage project scope, personnel, budgets, schedules and collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Manage other consultant teams and the workload of design staff including Engineers, EITSs, and technical staff that contribute to the growth and safety of Arizona.
  • Report on project progress and budgets.
  • Work with the Public Works & Local Infrastructure Team Leader and Operations Managers in business development activities.

What you will need:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in Arizona
  • At least 12 years of experience in public works, municipal roadway, drainage, detention, water/wastewater utility design, and/or utilities design.
  • Good technical writing and communication skills
  • Experience in project scope development, professional services fee development and staffing projections
  • Experience in producing winning project proposals as lead professional/project manager
  • Strong ability to train and mentor staff
  • Must be proficient in project management, administration and supervision
  • Ability to work in a team environment with multiple offices and various disciplines.
  • Positive attitude, self-directed
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred
