This is an exempt (salaried) position. Pay rates are based on education, skill, experience level and internal equity. Internal equity consideration included an assessment of the applicant's salary history and qualifications in comparison to the market rate and requirement for the job.
This role is on-site 5 days a week, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Position Summary
Manage and oversee operationalfunctions of County health programs to ensure quality, cost effective,efficient, and customer-friendly services. Sr. Health Program Managers overseea wide variety of public health functions, including case management and carecoordination, quality improvement/assurance, public health informatics,environmental health, community engagement, large-scale grants and clinicoperations. A senior managerial position is responsible for aligning thestrategic goals of the program(s) with the strategic goals of the Public HealthDepartment and the County, implementing strategies to achieve these goals,assuring compliance with state and federal requirements and for providingprofessional/technical administrative management and direction for programmanagers and supervisors.
Essential Functions
• Leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of theMecklenburg County Public Health Department's epidemiological initiatives andpublications.
• Conducts data analysis and reviews health indicators toassist leadership with measuring the health status of the county.
• Performs specialstudies, develops reports and attends meetings. Manages the collection,analysis, and dissemination of public health data
• Directs the daily operations of the Epidemiology programand provides general administrative and technical leadership of functions andactivities
• Advises the Mecklenburg County Health Director and theexecutive team on epidemiology, morbidity and mortality trends, and healthrisks
• Provide leadership in developing, aligning andimplementing strategic goals of the program with strategic goals of thedivision, department and County.
• Participate in community-level planning to developpartnerships with healthcare providers and areas of collaborative practice toensure programs' needs are met
• Assist with identifying funding opportunities anddeveloping funding proposals
• Participate in the development of policies and proceduresfor area of responsibility
• In the event of a public health emergency, employees maybe trained for and assigned duties unrelated to their regular work; workoutside normal business hours and workdays and/or in a different work locationmay be required.
Emergency events include, but are not limited to,communicable disease outbreaks, severe weather situations (e.g. snow or icestorms, tornados, hurricanes), natural disasters (e.g. earthquakes), fire, orpower outages, and acts of terrorism.
MinimumQualifications
Experience
:
Minimumof six years of experience and one year of supervisory experience or completionof an
approvedsupervisory training program.
Education:
Bachelor'sdegree in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration orrelated field.

• Requires a valid North Carolina or South Carolina Driver's License
• Mayrequire a Mecklenburg County Operator's Permit if required to drive a Countyvehicle.

• Master's degree in PublicHealth, public administration, business administration or a related field.
