Job description

SUMMARY
Fine Dining Server Assistant's are responsible for creating an exceptional dining experience, greeting guests, and anticipating their needs. Responsibilities also include bussing tables, disposing of trash, maintaining the cleanliness of all restaurant areas, transporting dishes and silverware to the dish area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Dispose of trash, maintain the cleanliness of all dining areas and fountain beverage stations
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of restaurant areas including kitchen, server, seating areas
  • Carries dirty dishes from dining room to kitchen
  • Sweep dining room floors
  • Responsible for welcoming and interacting with Guests in a positive and friendly manner
  • Anticipate Guests needs and assists with directions, event schedules, and other information or assistance as needed
  • Performs deep cleaning according to deep cleaning schedule or as needed
  • Greet guests and preform water service offering guests beverage choices
  • Change linens and reset tables properly
  • Must understand and abide by environmental practices of the resort
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous work experience within an upscale high volume establishment
  • Knowledge of a full service dining environment is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team player attitude
  • Previous restaurant experience; understanding of full service environment and experience working in a hospitality role is preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff; ability to handle cash and accurately make change. Must be able to understand and comply with all departmental and Company rules, regulations, Policies and procedures. A fine dining Server Assistant must be able to handle difficulties with customers and staff alike. The Server Assistant is responsible for keeping multiple details organized and require good organizational skills, and help other staff members when able. Ability to multi task and work in a very fast paced environment. Speed, accuracy and efficiency are required and ability to work well under pressure. Self-directed (can complete tasks with minimal supervision). Willingness to learn new concepts and ideas. Understands principles of proper sanitation. Willing to follow instructions & take direction. Can complete repetitious tasks while maintaining quality. Exhibits a positive, friendly and helpful attitude to our guests and fellow staff members. The position requires that you work 3-5 days per week and is able to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, Sunday mornings, and holidays.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical demands for a Server Assistant position include lifting heavy trays, standing for extending periods of time, and excellent hand-eye coordination. Other physical demands include being able to walk for long periods of time without rest or sitting down, especially on a very busy night. Balance is also a must for any Server Assistant. Must be able to climb stairs and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis. Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50lbs at shoulder height. Must be able to bend, squat, push, and pull frequently. Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; squeezing and overhead reaching occasionally.
TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS
Able to deal with stress associated with fast-paced work environment. Make judgment decisions and adapt to changing work situations. Grasp and apply new ideas. Communicate with various personalities at all levels. Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is located an inside, with occasional loud noise levels. Thermostats that run the heating and cooling systems control the temperature of the restaurant.
Native American Preference will apply. Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
