They typically work under the guidance of licensed therapists or supervisors as part of their degree programs or certification requirements. Their responsibilities often include conducting therapy sessions with clients, participating in supervision, and learning about different therapeutic approaches. The goal is to gain the necessary skills and experience to become fully qualified psychotherapists. Completing a training program is a critical step toward professional licensure or certification in the field.

As a Psychotherapy Trainee, you will typically receive regular supervision from a licensed and experienced psychotherapist. This supervision often takes the form of weekly one-on-one or small group sessions, where you can discuss client cases, ethical concerns, and your personal development as a therapist.
