Job description

Senior Account Executive Electronic Security
Territory: Cleveland

About PSX
PSX is a national systems integrator specializing in electronic security, physical/perimeter security, and parking & access systems. Founded in 1969, PSX serves commercial, critical infrastructure, and government clients through nine offices across the U.S.

Our solutions include:

  • Electronic Security: Video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection
  • Physical / Perimeter Security: Gates, barriers, turnstiles, crash-rated and hardened perimeter systems
  • Parking & Access Systems: Integrated access and revenue control solutions

PSX is known for delivering custom, installed solutions, strong execution, and long-term customer partnerships.

The Role
PSX is seeking a Senior Account Executive to grow a defined territory through consultative, integrator-side sales of electronic and/or physical security solutions.

This role is designed for a hands-on, field-based seller who is comfortable working independently and owning deals end-to-end from prospecting and site walks through solution concept, proposal, negotiation, and close.

This position does not require engineering or CAD work. However, it does require the ability to consult with clients on system layout and device placement for example, confidently recommending where cameras, access points, or perimeter devices should go based on site conditions and risk.

CAD designers and engineers finalize drawings and specifications, but the Account Executive must own the solution concept and client-facing recommendations.

This is a hybrid role with frequent in-person meetings and site visits, balanced with flexibility to work remotely when not in the field. Occasional in-office time is expected for collaboration and training.

Territory alignment is flexible based on experience and location, with a focus on the Cleveland region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and grow a defined territory by prospecting, qualifying, and closing new business
  • Develop net-new customer relationships and expand opportunities within existing accounts
  • Conduct site walks to assess risk, understand environments, and identify security needs
  • Consult with customers on system layout and device placement (e.g., cameras, access points, barriers, turnstiles)
  • Define solution concepts, technology recommendations, and overall scope prior to engineering review
  • Collaborate with engineering, CAD, and operations teams to refine and finalize designs
  • Present solutions, develop proposals, negotiate pricing and terms, and close deals
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle with accurate pipeline, forecasting, and CRM activity tracking
  • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs
  • Represent PSX at customer meetings, site visits, and industry events as needed

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven success in B2B sales with a history of meeting or exceeding targets
  • Experience owning a territory and managing deals from prospecting through close
  • Direct experience consulting on system layout or device placement for installed security, low-voltage, or infrastructure solutions
  • Comfort conducting site walks and making client-facing recommendations
  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and standard business software
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned territory
  • Bachelors degree preferred but not required

Preferred Background (Nice to Have)

  • Experience selling electronic security and/or physical/perimeter security systems
  • Background with integrators, installers, or project-based solution sales
  • Exposure to environments such as commercial real estate, industrial facilities, healthcare, higher education, government, or critical infrastructure
  • Familiarity with long or multi-step sales cycles involving installation and coordination

Also Considered

  • Candidates without direct security experience may be considered if they have personally conducted site walks and made layout-level recommendations for installed, site-specific infrastructure systems (e.g., low-voltage, life safety, building systems, perimeter controls).

This role is not intended for candidates whose experience relies entirely on pre-sales engineers to define system layout or solution concepts.

Why Join PSX

  • Meaningful solutions: Sell systems that protect people, property, and critical infrastructure
  • Autonomy & ownership: True territory responsibility with independence and accountability
  • Strong support: Experienced engineering, CAD, and operations teams behind every deal
  • Growth & stability: A long-standing company with national reach and continued investment
