As of Jun 29, 2026, the average yearly pay for psa engineering in the United States is $142,070.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $114,000.00 and $173,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a PSA Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a PSA (Professional Services Automation) Engineer, you need a solid background in software engineering, systems integration, and experience with PSA platforms, often supported by a relevant degree in computer science or engineering. Familiarity with PSA tools like Salesforce, NetSuite OpenAir, or Mavenlink, along with certifications in these systems, is typically required. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills help you address client needs and collaborate with cross-functional teams. These skills and qualities are vital for delivering tailored automation solutions that optimize business processes and drive client satisfaction.

What is PSA engineering?

PSA engineering refers to the design, implementation, and maintenance of Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) systems, which are used to separate and purify gases. PSA engineers work with technologies that exploit the property of certain materials to adsorb gases under pressure and release them at lower pressures. These systems are commonly used in industrial processes, such as producing high-purity oxygen, nitrogen, or hydrogen. PSA engineers are involved in system design, troubleshooting, and optimization to ensure efficient gas separation and cost-effective operation.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

In PSA engineering or related technical fields, high-paying roles such as specialized technicians, project managers, or sales engineers can earn around $10,000 monthly without a formal degree, often requiring industry experience, certifications, or technical skills. These positions typically involve hands-on work, technical knowledge, or client interaction and may require relevant training or certifications rather than a traditional college degree.

What are some common challenges faced by PSA Engineers when managing multiple projects simultaneously?

PSA Engineers often juggle several projects at once, which can present challenges such as balancing competing deadlines, ensuring consistent communication among multidisciplinary teams, and maintaining high-quality standards across deliverables. Effective time management and prioritization are crucial, as is the ability to adapt quickly to shifting client requirements or technical issues. Collaboration tools and regular coordination meetings are commonly used to keep projects on track and foster teamwork.

What does a PSA engineer do?

A PSA engineer specializes in Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) systems, designing, maintaining, and optimizing equipment used for gas separation processes. They analyze system performance, troubleshoot issues, and may work with control systems and process simulations to ensure efficient operation. Strong knowledge of engineering principles, instrumentation, and safety standards is essential in this role.

What is the difference between Psa Engineering vs Piping Design Engineer?

AspectPsa EngineeringPiping Design Engineer
Required CredentialsEngineering degree, certifications in process safety or plant designEngineering degree, certifications in piping design or CAD software
Work EnvironmentIndustrial plants, process facilities, safety-focused settingsDesign offices, construction sites, industrial plants
Industry UsageOil & gas, chemical, petrochemical industriesOil & gas, chemical, power plants

Both Psa Engineering and Piping Design Engineers work within the industrial sector, often in oil & gas or chemical industries. Psa Engineering focuses on process safety and plant design, while Piping Design Engineers specialize in creating detailed piping layouts. They share similar credentials and work environments, but their roles emphasize different aspects of plant development and safety.

What engineers make $300,000 a year?

Senior Psa Engineers with extensive experience, specialized skills, and advanced certifications can earn $300,000 or more annually, especially in high-demand industries or leadership roles. Achieving this salary often requires expertise in areas like systems design, project management, and proficiency with engineering tools, along with a strong track record of successful project delivery.

What engineer makes $500,000 a year?

Highly experienced engineers in specialized fields such as petroleum engineering, aerospace engineering, or certain senior roles in software engineering can earn $500,000 or more annually. These positions often require advanced skills, extensive experience, and sometimes leadership responsibilities or working in high-cost-of-living areas.
