Job Description:
Performs certified quality welds with ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Reads blue prints and sketches to perform welds and layouts. Utilizes horizontal band saws, chop saws, track torches, plasma and free hand cutting. Material thickness will vary from 16 gauge to 8 thick. When and where required preheats and post heats material. Fabricates jigs when required to mass produce products. Welds deposits performed using Arc, Mig and Tig welding procedures. Operates drill press and MAG drills. Fabricates items from shop drawing sketches and verbal instructions from chief or customer. Remove material when needed using air arc and oxy/fuel washing. Utilizes horizontal band saws, chop saws, track torches, and free hand cutting with plasma and oxy fuel. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.ย
