Job description

Job Description:

Systems Technology & Research, Inc. (STaR) is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support a U.S. Army organization located at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. The Senior Data Analyst will serve as the lead for data analytics and modeling, overseeing the development and delivery of descriptive and predictive analytical products. This role will also provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data analysts, ensuring high-quality, data-driven solutions that support organizational objectives and mission requirements.

Qualifications/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Operations Research, or closely related field.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in analytics.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in supply chain.
  • Experience with data mining.
  • Experience with statistical modeling.
  • Experience with machine learning.
  • Experience using Tableau and/or Power BI
  • Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead Data Analytics and Modeling activities, oversee descriptive and predictive analytical products, and mentor junior data analysts.
  • Collect, process, and analyze data to extract meaningful insights, identify patterns, and support decision-making.
  • Use data mining, Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, and data visualization to transform raw data into actionable information.
  • Provide advanced data mining, statistical analysis, trend analysis, and causal analysis, serving as a technical lead to monitor and deliver monthly support for supply chain activities.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and other written materials in accordance with established regulations and guidelines and make recommendations on organizational matters affecting program support.
  • Integrate multiple disciplines within an operations research team and translate analytical methods into practical applications for operational managers.
  • Implement quality control methods; collect and analyze data for key enterprise metrics, including Material Requirements Planning (MRP) adherence, forecast accuracy, supply availability, and excess inventory; and prepare and update processes supporting analytic tools, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Distill structured and unstructured data into cohesive analytical products for functional business areas, support pattern analysis to develop recommendations for operational managers, and prepare reports and briefings to communicate courses of action to senior leadership.
  • Perform descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
