Job description

Duties and Responsibilities

This description represents the most significant job duties but does not exclude other work duties assigned or required but not mentioned. Previous CNC Press Brake experience REQUIRED.

Second Shift is Mon-Thurs 2:30PM - 1:00AM

  • Operate the press brake to punch, notch, bend and form material for proper angles and radii as necessary
  • Performs operations in an appropriate order to shape parts
  • Completes necessary paperwork on inspections and operations., including the use of calipers and protractors to inspect product. Prepare job tickets and perform assigned work to time standards and quality inspections.
  • Detect malfunctions and notify supervisor of any material or equipment problems.
  • Perform set up procedures, including changing and setting dies.
  • Use a CNC controller to input information into machine.
  • Perform daily and weekly preventative maintenance as required.
  • Move and stack material as required.

ATTENDANCE: Good attendance includes reporting to work on time, sticking to work schedules, being prepared to start work on time, remaining on the job during the workday to complete assigned duties and limited use of unscheduled leave.

QUALITY: Every employee has the responsibility “to do it right the first time” in order to provide the customer a product that meets their requirements

SAFETY: All employees will wear required safety equipment and comply with company safety rules, procedures and policies at all times

Job Requirements

Employees are required to follow procedures, work instructions and operational processes. The potential consequences for non-compliance may result in an increased rejection rate at the Customer, increased internal scrap rate, delayed or late shipments, personal injury, and a negative impact on the environment.

All employees have the responsibility to contain and immediately notify management of any nonconforming product.

This position requires no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of press operator experience
  • Experience with running short runs and prototype work.
  • Able to read blueprints and use measuring equipment
  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision and ability to work closely with others.
  • Ability to set up jobs in an efficient manner
  • Ability to program and maintain programs

Working Conditions / Environment

This job operates in a manufacturing environment.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to loud noise, fumes and airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration; may work with or around chemicals that create a hazardous exposure which is defined on the accessible Safety Data Sheets; employee is exposed to moderate temperature changes over an eight-hour shift.
